Welcome to the Beautiful You blog!

WHAT IS "BEAUTIFUL YOU" ?

"Beautiful You" is a song written by myself (Dawn McCoy) and Chris Richards that appears on my debut album, "SWEET TIME."
It started out as a song written for all of us, anyone and everyone who has those feelings of not being "enough", who experiences self-doubt, and who does not realize how beautiful they are. It's so hard to remember that sometimes, and it's so easy to get caught up in feeling bad about yourself. I decided that there had to be a way to address every BEAUTIFUL YOU out there.
We wrote the song and recorded it and I then I went in search of some beautiful young ladies who could sing with me at the most important part at the very end of the song.
They became the "Beautiful Girls Chorus"! We had so much fun that day recording with these seven girls (ages 10 - 18). They were all so beautiful and unique in their own way and it really added to the beauty of the song, and completely made it what you hear today.
We talked about what makes them feel good about themselves, what doesn't make them feel so great - and I knew then that I had to start a "Beautiful You" movement online.

WHAT IS www.beautifulyouhhq.com?

It's a place where you can visit and be reminded that you are beautiful and this world needs you just as you are.
I wanted to build a safe place online where people of all ages and backgrounds could visit and feel a little bit better about themselves.
It's almost impossible to hear the song or visit the site and NOT feel better!

What's a "Beautiful You Boost"?

Anyone can sign up for "Beautiful You Boosts" and I can't encourage you strongly enough to do so!
I wish I had been able to receive them both when I was growing up and now!
A Beautiful You Boost is an inspiring quote, message or thought that I send out pretty much every day.
You sign up, and the next thing you know you receive a boost in your inbox. It's all age-appropriate and the quotes I send out are taken from my seven quote book journals. I've been collecting them since I was 12 years old.
I turn to them daily myself and decided that these amazing words had to be shared. It now makes total sense why I've been collecting these for so long!
